The Colorado Avalanche have acquired forward Vladislav Namestnikov from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a 2021 4th round draft pick.
The Avs are hunting again for a forward. They missed out on Taylor Hall earlier this season, and were in the hunt for Chris Kreider. While it doesn\’t look like they\’ll get Kreider, they get a solid depth forward in Namestnikov. While he isn\’t on the level of Hall or Kreider, he is a decent third line winger. Namestnikov started the season with the Rangers, but was traded to Ottawa after two games. He has been decent for the Senators. A pending UFA, the return probably should have been higher. Especially after the team got a first and second rounder for Jean-Gabriel Pageau. While Pageau is a center, the difference between him and Namestnikov isn\’t that big. The Avs could sell a little at the deadline as well. Tyson Jost is rumored to potentially be on the way out.
Namestnikov, 27, has scored 13 goals with 12 assists for 25 points in 56 games for the Senators and New York Rangers this year. In his NHL career for the Senators, Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning, Namestnikob has scored 79 goals with 104 assists for 183 points in 416 games.
